Canadian Armed Forces CFAT Program
The Canadian Armed Forces (CFAT) takes 60 minutes to complete, with several timed portions. There are 60 questions at the time of this writing. The CFAT includes the following six sections:
Section 1 - Verbal Skills (15 questions, 5 minutes):
- Objective: Measure the candidate's ability to understand, interpret, and use written language effectively.
- Structure: This section presents questions related to vocabulary, analogies, and reading comprehension. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to grasp the meaning of words, understand relationships between concepts, and interpret written information accurately.
- Preparation with Cognitive Results: Utilize comprehensive study guides and practice exercises focused on enhancing your vocabulary, improving your ability to identify analogies, and boosting your reading comprehension skills.
Section 4 - Spatial Skills (15 questions, 10 minutes):
- Objective: Measure the candidate's ability to visualize and manipulate objects in space.
- Structure: This section presents problems involving shapes, patterns, and spatial relationships. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to understand and solve problems related to spatial orientation and visualization.
- Preparation with Cognitive Results: Engage in spatial reasoning exercises designed to improve your ability to visualize and manipulate objects effectively.
Section 3 - Problem Solving (30 questions, 45 minutes):
- Objective: Measure the candidate's numerical and logical reasoning abilities.
- Structure: This section includes questions involving arithmetic, algebra, and logical sequences. Candidates must demonstrate their ability to solve mathematical problems, understand numerical relationships, and apply logical thinking to complex scenarios.
