GATB Program Information
The General Aptitude Test Battery (GATB) takes about 3 hours to complete and covers several distinct sections, each targeting different cognitive abilities. The GATB includes the following six sections:
Section 1 - General Learning Ability:
- Objective: Evaluate the candidate’s capacity to learn and apply new information, reason logically, and make sound decisions.
- Structure: This section includes questions that test your ability to understand complex concepts, follow instructions, and apply reasoning skills to solve problems.
- Preparation with Cognitive Results: Engage in exercises that enhance your reasoning abilities and comprehension of complex materials, ensuring you can tackle this section with confidence.
Section 2 - Verbal Ability:
- Objective: Assess the candidate’s proficiency in understanding and using language effectively.
- Structure: This section includes reading comprehension, vocabulary, and questions that require you to draw inferences from text. You'll need to demonstrate your ability to understand main ideas, supporting details, and implied meanings.
- Preparation with Cognitive Results: Improve your language skills through targeted reading exercises and vocabulary drills, specifically designed to mirror the GATB format.
Section 3 - Numerical Ability:
- Objective: Evaluate the candidate's ability to perform basic arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
- Structure: This section covers a variety of mathematical concepts, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages, and problem-solving with numerical data.
- Preparation with Cognitive Results: Strengthen your numerical skills with practice tests and problem-solving exercises focused on speed and accuracy.
Section 4 - Spatial Aptitude:
- Objective: Measure the candidate’s ability to visualize and manipulate objects in space.
- Structure: You'll encounter problems involving shapes, patterns, and spatial relationships. This section tests your ability to understand and solve spatial problems.
- Preparation with Cognitive Results: Sharpen your spatial reasoning through exercises that enhance your ability to visualize and manipulate objects effectively.
Section 5 - Form Perception:
- Objective: Assess the candidate's attention to detail in perceiving shapes, sizes, and physical attributes.
- Structure: This section requires you to identify small but crucial differences in shapes and objects, essential for fields that require visual inspection or technical work.
- Preparation with Cognitive Results: Develop your form perception through exercises that train you to notice details and distinguish between similar forms accurately.
Section 6 - Clerical Perception:
- Objective: Evaluate the candidate’s ability to quickly and accurately perceive details in verbal and numerical data.
- Structure: This section tests your ability to manage tasks involving large amounts of data, such as checking documents, entering data, and spotting errors.
- Preparation with Cognitive Results: Boost your clerical perception skills with exercises designed to improve speed and accuracy in handling detailed data.
